The LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur is the most important art museum in Westphalia. The museum covers a spectrum from the Middle Ages to contemporary art. Not only the more than 300,000 works by Westphalian artists such as Wilhelm Morgner, Christian Rohlfs, August Macke, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Piene or Rosemarie Trockel, but also a comprehensive art education programme and cultural activities again and again open up new ways of looking at art and cultural history.
